Noon Visit:

OMG.They brought her to me in one of the exam rooms because she’s not supposed to be running around outside. She came in pulling at the leash and raring to go. I lost it for a minute when I saw her – she’s a mess, legs and tail and lower body dirty with stuff from the drainage tube in her lower abdomen. And the scar is … well...horrendous.

A letter from Holly

maggieBlaze reminds me so much of my little Maggie, rescued from a puppy mill in almost as bad shape as Blaze.

Fortunately, Maggie was only about 2, but nearly dead from starvation, parasites, etc. It took nearly a year to get her fat (really fat :-) healthy and happy -- and she was my adoring, affectionate, beloved companion for 16 more years.

Blaze came running to greet me for our visit today! I don’t know if she’s learned that I have great treats or if she just wants to go outside – she LOVES to go outside. But seeing her run is worth everything.

UPDATE: Terry Visits Blaze

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 21, 2011: (as always, click on any image for a larger view)  UPDATE: OTHER SURGERIES RAN TOO LONG TODAY - BLAZE IS NOW SET FOR SURGERY ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29.  SHE IS DOING FINE, EATING WELL AND WILL HAVE ONE MORE WEEK TO PUT ON SOME WEIGHT.  STAY TUNED FOR FURTHER UPDATES AND KEEP PRAYING FOR THIS GIRL!

I went to visit our girl today around lunchtime. She was glad to go outside tugging on her leash and ready to explore. I know she has gained some weight but she still seemed very fragile and when I ran my hand over her back, her spine felt like it was nearly poking thru the skin.
