Please Help The Missouri 11

Thank you for your support in getting these dogs healthy and into wonderful, warm homes!

On November 30, 2010 with the cooperation of the State of Missouri and the Pet Adoption and Welfare Service (PAWS) in Missouri, American Fox Terrier Rescue was able to rescue 11 Wire Fox Terriers from a puppy mill whose breeding license was revoked. After much local and long distance planning, 8 volunteers from PAWS successfully retrieved the 5 female and 6 male Wire Fox Terriers from the puppy mill.

Every detail of the rescue was carefully planned to ensure the dogs' and rescuers' safety and to minimize the stress on the dogs.  The dogs range in age from 1 to 9 years old. Once they were safely secured by PAWS, the dogs were taken for bathing, grooming and deworming. Thorough vet exams including a full panel of vaccinations and heartworm testing have been scheduled.  American Fox Terrier Rescue is committed to ensuring that any additional medical care is fully funded.

The care and transport of these sweet, beautiful Fox Terriers is going to be expensive and we need your help to fund their way to a new life. Your donation, however big or small, is greatly appreciated.  Until now, these dogs have lived their lives as livestock, and it's time they learn what it's like to warm and loved!

The dogs will be fostered in Missouri at foster homes chosen by Carol Leech, the board Chairperson of PAWS, without whose help we could never have pulled this off.  The foster homes will make sure the dogs get to the veterinarians for physicals, spaying, neutering and inoculations.  They will also provide these sweet dogs with loving care until they are transported to their American Fox Terrier Rescue foster homes, and then on to permanent homes where they will live as loved and loving pets.

A big THANK YOU goes out to Carol, Lois, Shellie, Jackie, Bev, Marquise, George and Mona and everyone else from PAWS, as well as the veterinarians who have juggled schedules to get the Fox Terriers the medical care they need before traveling to their foster homes in various parts of the country.

We will post updates and photos both here and on our Facebook page as things progress so that you can see how your donations are helping these dogs.

Thanks to all of you American Fox Terrier Rescue has saved a lot of dogs over the years.  In these difficult economic times, we know that your charitable donations are more sought after than ever.  We hope you are able to open your heart to these wonderful dogs and give them the new lease on the life they so richly deserve.

Together, we can make this happen!
