In March 2007, the Humane Society of Faulkner County, located in Conway, Arkansas, did a cruelty investigation on a horse that was down and had been down for four days. They came upon a horrible site and they had to euthanize the horse on the property. They seized 8 other horses and noticed a cage way at the back of the property with something in it. They found Rex, a Fox Terrier who was in a pen with molded dog food, thick green water and sporting dread locks. But he was a happy boy who seemed to love people and to play.
They chopped all the dreadlocks off of him - and as you can imagine they had to shave him down. He was neutered, got his vaccinations and a microchip.
On March 24th, Rex got on a plane with Northwest Airlines, and flew to Minneapolis. Kathy Lauer picked him up at the airport and brought him to Compassionate Care Animal Hospital* in Brooklyn Park, MN where Dr. Judi Funk and her wonderful staff checked him over and found that he had an infection in his neuter site, dry eye, was in dire need of a dental, but was also Class 3 Heartworm positive. Rex has been staying at Compassionate Care while he's undergoing his heartworm treatment, where he keeps them smiling with his antics and has become somewhat of a mascot. He's due to get his dental and his last heartworm treatment on April 25th and will then be ready to move on to a new home! Rex probably needs to be an only dog since he doesn't really get along with other dogs. But aside from that, he's a happy, fun loving boy!
Help Rex
move on in his journey and his road to recovery! Please donate to Fox
Terrier Rescue!

THANK YOU!
